Forterra donation gives Kettering Home-Start a headstart
The Forterra Community Fund gives charities, clubs, groups and societies the opportunity to apply for funding or building products to be used in projects that make a positive contribution to their local community.
Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK, particularly helping families with young children. Through a network of trained volunteers, the charity supports parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.
Forterra’s donation will enable Home-Start to continue to recruit, train and support these volunteers, who spend two or three hours each week with families in Kettering, just 16 miles from Forterra’s head office in Northampton, to make sure the parents have the skills, time and strength they need to nurture their children.
Nikki Farrar-Hayton, Manager of Home-Start Kettering said, “By visiting a family in their own home and offering support, our volunteers represent a lifeline for many who are finding it hard to cope. We are so grateful to Forterra for their donation, which will enable us to help more families in the area.”
Caroline Wildman, Marketing Director at Forterra added “Family is so important, and the work Home-Start does in Kettering is brilliant at helping new families adjust so we’re delighted to support them.”
