Forterra Employees recognised in Top 100 Influencers
Commercial Director Adam Smith and Sales Director Kelvin Jones, who both work for building products manufacturer Forterra, have recently been nominated for the Top 100 Supplier Influencers in recognition of their work in the industry.
Collated by The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) and Builders’ Merchants News (BMN), the Top 100 Supplier Influencers list aims to shine a light on the achievements of the top supplier influencers according to the criteria of involvement, presence, commitment to the industry, and charity and community work.
Adam has almost three decades of experience in the construction sector, as well as an M.B.A from Warwick Business School and a B.Sc. Hons. degree in Physics from Manchester University. He has previously worked for Jewson as National Sales Director, he was Sales and Marketing Director at Tata Steel, and he held the role of Managing Director at Corus Colorsteels, as well as various other senior management positions across Corus.
“As Commercial Director, I’m responsible for improving Forterra’s overall revenues and delivering on its business strategy,” says Adam.
“I’m delighted to have been nominated for the Top 100 Suppliers Influencers. I’ve enjoyed a truly wonderful and varied career during my time at Forterra and intend to keep on bringing my enthusiasm and expertise to the role.”
Fellow nominee Kelvin has over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing, builders’ merchant and retail sectors. Prior to joining Forterra, he has worked various senior management roles at Hanson Building Products, which was later melded into Forterra.
Kelvin Jones said: “I’m honoured to receive this nomination. I started my career as a yard hand in a small independent merchant in South Wales, and since then I’ve been extremely fortunate to work with some truly inspirational people across the industry over the years, all of whom have enabled me to forge a fantastic and rewarding career.”
The suppliers included on the list will feature in a commemorative brochure and be invited to a gala dinner celebration and networking event at the Belfry, in Warwickshire, in May.
Neil Ash, CEO of Forterra, added: “Builders’ Merchants are a key part of the construction supply chain, making a considerable contribution to the local and wider economy; more importantly, they ensure we keep Britain Building. Nominations such as the Top 100 are vital in highlighting the achievements of people in the industry and encouraging all of us to keep doing what we’re doing.
“We’re delighted with Adam and Kelvin’s nominations. The Top 100 Suppliers Influencers list is a great way to shine a light on individuals who go above and beyond in their service to the industry. Both of these employees have had a demonstrably positive impact on the people around them and the wider building materials industry, and we couldn’t be more pleased for them in receiving this nomination.”
