Butterley brick for housebuilding
To keep your housing development on track, a reliable and consistent source of bricks is essential.
In 2019, we manufactured 200 million Butterley wirecut extruded bricks – that’s enough to build approximately 25,000 new homes. And with a £95-million investment in the expansion of our Desford factory annual production will increase to nearly 300 million by 2022, supporting residential construction needs and Keeping Britain Building.
Butterley: One of the building industry’s best-known names
The Butterley name has been synonymous with brick manufacturing in the UK for over 150 years. In that time, Butterley bricks have been used for much more than housebuilding. You will find Butterley bricks in the walls of London’s St Pancras railway station and in the redeveloped Battersea Power Station; and their scope as a decorative material is visible in the coats of arms built into the walls of court buildings up and down the country.
The current range of Butterley wirecut extruded bricks has a wealth of colours and finishes to suit both classic and contemporary architecture. Choose from red, buff, yellow, brown, blue and grey bricks in a smooth, uniform finish; a modern, lightly textured finish; a more rustic looking heavy textured; or tumbled, which has the distressed, irregular look of reclaimed bricks.
